: Hi I'm thinking of getting an Indigo early next year and was wondering what the difference in temperant was between the sexes? I've read somewhere that males can get pretty nasty when ready to breed. Is this true? I'm intending to get a female anyways, then get her a partner when she's sexually mature. Any special treatment needed for the queen of my collection when I get her?
: Grateful for help

Mike,
the only diffrence i have noticed is the size and confidence of captive raised males. Wise choice to get a female first, but frankly I woul;d save myself some headaches and buy both a male and a female from TWO seperate breeders and at the same time. Looking for adult or subadult indigos can be a pain and you never know what you are getting when you buy an adult snake. Why did they get rid of it? Do they have a good reputation? What if it arrives in bad shape? Babies are a much better way to go period.
