: My WC 6.5' Blacktail is now eating the following:
: Raw chicken parts, i.e., gizzards, hearts, drumsticks.
: Live mice and rats, of course.
: Soft boiled peeled eggs, (his favorite)
: Bolonga. YES!!!
: Hot dogs.
: Pork chop scraps.
: Beef scraps.
: Canned cat food put on a paper plate.
: I dewormed this beauty with panacur and flagyl and spent a lot of time with him.
: He sheds out every four weeks and is as fat as a pig, dog tame, unless its feeding time, (he swallowed my finger once).
: I paid $85 for this babe and he is one of the best snakes I've ever had!
: His diet today was one mouse, a slice of bolonga and two soft boiled peeled eggs. Yesterday he had a good sized rat.
: Some may say I'm not fullfilling the nutritional requirements of the animal, however, he does get striated muscle tissue and whole animals. Besides, he is really flourishing, he's not the skinny parasite ridden WC I got two months ago. Anyway, just thought its interesting and not too many can say they have any snake that will eat catfood!
: Good Luck with any picky eaters you may have.

Roy,
You have embarked on an unusual journey. Experimenting with a snakes diet to iclude "processed" human food products is unsual to say the least. Just last week someone asked me what Indigos would eat, what they would accept. Guess I have to expand the list!!
The food products that you have fed them, processed, refined and treated with steroids are no better for them than for us. The snake will eat them, to be sure but they are not good for it.
Haveing a wild caught snake is allready a headache, this food is not helping it. Outwardly healthy, inside???
I would rethink the selection of foods and omit the processed food products.
