I recently went to PETsMART to check out the condition of their animals and was surprised (and happy) to see that the animals were relatively well taken care of. Just for laughs i talked to one of the employees and it went something like this.
Me: How big to those lizards (chameleons) get?
Employee: Oh, about this long? *holding hands about 12" apart* (it was more of a question than an answer)
Me: What do they eat?
Employee: Ummm... *pause* Anything really, crickets, mealworms, flies, fruit flies, bugs from your backyard, veggies.
Me: Really? What size cage do they need as adults?
Employee:Ummm... *pause* probably about... *pause* hold on while i get someone that knows about animals *employee leaves*.
Its pretty funny what they say (and think they know) there. Im gonna do that more often, just for a laugh, but they are, now, handing out care sheets with each reptile sold because of the new law passed.
