A simple ? bout Horned Toads

I was looking at the Texas web site listed below and am thinking of collecting a few for a breeding Colony, I have several colonies and pairs of reptiles that i breed, but i noticed on the pics page of the texas site listed below they showed a toad laying eggs on the surface and not diggin a hole, Is this common, all my other reptiles dig hole, just curious if toads do it this way?
