: horned lizards lay eggs in nests/burrows. If you will note on this board about the protected status of horned lizards in many states, that is a fact. If you attempt to captive breed, what will you do with the offspring? You cannot sell them because it is illegal. As for seeing a species die out, that is what many of us who do research on horned lizards are attempting to gather data try to prevent. Removing a species from the wild, that is protected, is not the way to help. We have more than monetary gain in mind.
