You can only keep Gilas in CA with a Fish & Game permit. That means you can't have them unless you had them a LONG time ago or you are very lucky. (educational, etc)
However, you CAN keep beaded lizards in CA. Many people do not know that, I checked with FG and it is true. The law does not apply to Beadeds.
It is said that it is a matter of time before the law is changed to include beadeds too. As long as your city or county has no law about venomous reptiles you are fine. If the law changes people who prove ownership should be able to keep their beadeds.
