stupid question about dead leaves,,,

hello,,this is a really stupid question but in my school there are some trees and i usually find some dead leaves,,,
i wanna know if i take some and put them in my snake's enclosure ,,,is there anyway where fungus can grow on it or could it cause diseases to my snake or is it safe ?
