I am not from California, but from Texas. I think you will find that all hobbies have those that are in it for money. Reptiles or "herping" is no different. If you take "Money" out of the equation you find a core group of people that really are responsible and enjoy the wildlife and habitat. This is not saying that all shippers/dealers/traders are bad. Usually a happy medium has to be found where, wildlife is preserved, collectors can collect in limited quantities, the state makes some money, and all be regulated for a reasonable amount. I think most states should take this type of standpoint.
