In Reply to: Taipans, Taipans, Taipans and more intensive research... posted by rayhoser on October 30, 2002 at 04:01:08:

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure and privilege of joining David in PNG for some of his research on taipans, taipan venoms and taipan bite epidemiology, not to mention his efforts in educating local health workers who deal on a daily basis with taipan bites. While I have always had plenty of respect for David, all I can say is that this skyrocketed when I saw him in action in PNG. He is doing work that very, very few of us could ever hope to emulate, least of all you, Ray.

The day you, Ray, do 1% of the good David is doing over in PNG, and take 1% of the risks he does on a daily basis (such as working with freshly caught taipans as opposed posing for w*nkshots with someone's dopy, tame pets [or did they come out of the fridge or ether anaesthesia?]), and display 1% of David's integrity, you may have earned the right to slag him off on these forums.

In the meantime, all you are doing is making a complete buffoon of yourself with your self-important blustering, your obvious attempts to play taxonomic terrorist by naming things at random, and your lame attempts to conjure up support from invented friends.

What exactly do you get your kicks from, Ray? Knowing that you have shafted other people's work? Are you trying to compensate for the fact that you have never made it into serious herpetology, that you have forever been flapping around the margins, trying to attract attention, and earned yourself nothing other than ridicule? What exactly is the chip on your shoulder?

You are a very sad case, Ray. I used to get p*ssed off by your taxonomic cr@p. Now I just pity you.

Have a nice day.

Wolfgang
