:While I'm in great support of this idea, I think it's important to remind ourselves that this will only solve SOME of the problems in the corn snake trade...
:Don't get me worng, I think the official guide to morphs would do a lot of good, but it would by no means stop the misrepresentation of corns (not saying anyone expects it too... just adding a reality check.)
It's pretty hard to "save the world" in one fell swoop. I think this project should be looked at as one step in the fight against misrepresentation (either by ignorance or by lack of morals). If there is a simple guide that spells it out X is defined by XXX, Y is defined by YYY, the hope is that it will be harder for Amoral Joe Shmoe to pawn off his misrepresented animals or even that Ignorant Joe Shmoe will learn what he really has and mark them correctly.
The problems in the industry will not be solved in one year by one project in one time. They've been fighting in various dog breeds for years with the same issues (calling some puppy a 'xxx' when it's really a 'yyy', etc.) I think it is unfair to expect any one idea to clear up the mess for good and all time.
Let's just take this one step at a time and try to better the industry in any way we can. I think this project could be a good first step.
IMHO (this whole post was written in an attempted neutral tone, no flame or antagonism intended)
