It's normal behavior for just about any young snake. All you need do is handle it regularly so it becomes accustomed to being held.

If you let yourself become intimidated by the hissing and (maybe) biting, you'll end up with a large boa that does exactly the same thing. If you handle it on a regular basis now, it will learn that nothing negative will hapen when it's handled, and it will cease to fear it.

In the wild, juvenile snakes are near the bottom of the food chain, so it's vital to their survival that they have a strong defensive response. Even the ever-so-amiable cornsnake is not "tame" the moment it hatches. It takes time and some handling to show it that you're not a predator intent on ending its life.
