Alex,
Here is some information that I was able to pull together about caring for Rough Green Snakes. These snakes make ideal specimens for display enclosures.
Setting Up The Enclosure:
1. You need a fairly large enclosure.
2. Substrate can consist of dead leaves, bracken, pebbles..(keep in mind when designing the enclosure, that these snakes originate from eastern North America). The substrate should be kept dry.
3. Include some intertwined/mixed dead branches. This will enable the snake to climb and bask under a light.
4. You can include some living plants as well - just be sure to leave them in the small pots and not plant them directly into the substrate.
5. Day time temperature should be about 25C or 77F. This can be achieved by an overhead heat source or a sub-tank heating source if you wish.
Feeding These Snakes:
These snakes are insectivores and will readily accept crickets, locust hoppers and even the occasional waxworm.
Rough green snakes grow to a maximum size of about 30 inches (or 75cm).
I hope this helps!
