:Funny thing about alterna--they say the average is one every 30-35 nights of hunting. But beginners luck plays out as well-my brother and I found two our first night out there-one on the Pandale paved road, just west of Comstock, and the other on 277. Have fun, but don't expect too much.

I was blessed with beginners luck my first time out too, but one Val Verde alterna every 30-35 nights? Maybe further west, but I think your odds are considerably better than that in the eastern part of the range...
