Billy, any other description would be needed. It could possibly be a Bullsnake (Pituophis) or maybe even a Blotched Water Snake (Nerodia ssp.). What kind of pattern was on the back? Did it hiss or vibrate its tail at all? Did it "play dead" after a few minutes? Just a little more information is needed before a positive I.D. can be established.
