the plastral shot would also show the number of hinges, and allow the determination between mud and musk.... their carapaces are pretty similar.

:If I am not mistaken it is some species of mud turtle, kinosternon. If I had a photo of the plastron I could probably narrow it down to which species or subspecies it is. :)
