Well, without a picture it is very hard to identify. If you don't have a pic than do a google seach on both species and try to compare pics.

:He is maybe 3 inches. One of my students had it for several months and gave it to me as her mom was going to flush it down the toilet. Since it had been in captivity for several months I didn't want to release it into the wild.
