Rat snakes are known for the "Bread loaf" shape of a transverse mid-body cut, which is kinda similar to a triange. I've seen a few representatives of Asian rat snakes at Reptile shows, and this shape is very pronounced, almost triangular. May just be a similar colubrid, who happens to be the focal point of some outragous myth like someone mentioned earlier. I am basing this on.. well.. nothing..
just an idea...
