definitely a black rat! Here are a couple head shots I have of a 6' rat I caught.

To anyone concerned about my handling technique: this is the only snake I've done this to, ever. Any others have been allowed to wander around freely, but I'd already been bitten once and didn't feel like letting him get another chance.
