what is this.......?

Today I just bought a gecko. The pet store told me absolutely nothing about what kind he is so I thought that maybe some of you guys could help me out.... He is around 4 inches long right now (they said he could get to 18 when he gets older) He has a triangle head with a cross in his eyes like one of those tree pythons sorda. He has lines of spots on his back and a striped tail. He is in shed right now so I can't really tell his color but it looks like a purplish?? Does anyone have any ideas on what he could be, and if soo could someone post some pics? I would myself but I dont know how to post them......:)
