It is my belief that most people in the reptilian hobby dont feed avian species due to the unbearable stench and constant supple of runny diarhea...
as for your other question, you must remember that avian species arent going to have nearly as much calcium as apropriately sized rodents becasue birds have HALLOW bones to fasilitate flying (chicken or not)
if people do feed avains it is becasue
1) the snake will not eat anything else
2) to clean out the system (due to excessive diarhea)
