Directions to the Harlingen Library

Some of you planning to attend the VHS meeting. It will be downstairs in the Harlingen Library Auditorium just to the left of the Library entrance (in the same building).

If you are coming from Brownsville on 77, exit on Tyler and turn right. Continue on Tyler towards downtown Harlingen past the Chilis, Golden Corral, Applebees, and past the downtown Railroad Tracks along Commerce St., until you finally hit the Stop Light at 6th St. Turn left on 6th St. passing Hobbs Apartments and proceed North 1/4 mile. You will pass another set of Railroad Tracks (6th St. then becomes '76th' St). You can see the Library on the right.

If you are coming from McAllen on 281, exit Dixie Land Rd. under construction by Valle Vista Mall. Ignore Dixie Land Rd. and go straight on past the mall along the access road under the 77 overpass. You are now on Tyler St. which will take you downtown Harlingen. Continue on Tyler past the downtown Railroad Tracks along Commerce St., to a Stop Light on 6th St. Take a left on 6th St. by Hobbs Apartments and follow 6th St. 1/4 mile up and cross another set of Railroad Tracks next to the Harlingen Library.

You can also stop in at the Texas Tourist Office by Valla Vista Mall and get a free Harlingen Map among other maps if that would help more.
