That is a good question and since I am by no means an expert, I will check the manual from TXPW.

Abundance is estimated by a call index (CI) based on Three levels:
CI = 1 for only a few individuals of the same species distinctly heard;
CI = 2 for calls of several individuals that overlap;
CI = 3 for so many individuals of the species calling that calls overlap and are indistinguishable.

***Apparently, I was mistaken in having a ranking of 4. CI = 3 is the highest on the scale so maybe the MX Treefrogs were calling between a 2-3.

For more information check out http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/nature/tracker/amphibians

This site provides electronic copies of all the TX Amphibian Watch materials, as well as photos and calls for most frogs and toads of TX.

If you try it and it doesn't work, please let me know. If it doesn't work than maybe you help me fix it. I never tried the Optional Link URL plus Link Title below the comment section before.

Sincerely
Joe Rigdon
