:is it possible to take a snakes venom glads out with out the snake dieing
Yes, the actual surgery is fairly easy. However, it should be done only by a competent vet and the animal kept on a course of antibiotics for a week - ten days.
This is ignoring the rather passionate views on the ethics/morality of it all. Some people view this as mutilation and that it defeats the entire purpose of keeping a venomous snake. Others take the view that unless the snake is being kept for venom production purposes, the presense/absense of venom glands is irrelevant to the wonder of keeping such an animal and also feel that it makes it safer.
Unfortunately you can fully expect to be flamed rather generously for asking a legitimate question.
Cheers
