:If by "handle" you mean like one might handle a corn snake the answer is basically no. There may be some out there who do, but that is not the norm, nor is it safe to do so, no matter how long one has owned the animal nor how well one thinks he knows the animal. A venomous snake is handled with tools such as hooks. Hands on work may be occasionally necessary, but tubes make that a whole lot safer. Hands on is definitely required for extraction of venom, but that is done by a very low percentage of those who keep venomous snakes.
