Herp shows in NY are rough tp begin with. No hots allowed for sale, display only. Albany County has an ordinance against venom being kept or even transported though any part of its boudaries. People purchasing hots and want to pick them up at the airport are going to be in for a suprise when they find out they have to be shipped to eithe Syracuse or the city. However, there are sometimes shows put on by the Upstate Herpetological Association, that are held in a Ramada in schenectady.
:Why no shows in the Capital District area? This is a great area with a lot of reptile enthusiasts, tons of great locations, but no major shows? Anyone know why? Was at the White Plains show this past weekend, but it's a long drive, expensive and not always the best crowd. Albany would be a great central location for people from NYC, up North, Canada, Mass, Vermont, Western New York etc. There are tons of terriffic places to host it (Pepsi arena, Saratoga Civic Center, Hudson Valley Community College, Altamont fair grounds just to name a few locations). Anyone have ideas or thoughts on this? Know anything?
