WE use a wild birdseed that has sunflower, millet and sorphorum sp? seeds, we just use a cheap plastic pastat strainer from the dollar store that has small enough holes for the millet and sorphorum to get through but keeps the sunflower seeds, out we use the same mix that Doug Dix at deer fern farm uses on his uros and have not had a problme with it. Yes freezing kills moths and their larva which alot of exotic bird owners and breeders do to the seeds before feeding.
