My mali was the first lizard I got, and I honestly got him on a whim when I saw how cute he was at the store. I went home read about him, got his home all put together, and then went back and got him. I am now absolutely in love with the uros. I got my first in November and now I have four! :) :) I'd say that if you think you can handle it and will care for all of it's needs, then it is totally fine to have a uro. It does seem that the mali uromastyx seems to be the most tame and easiest to deal with though of the species I have. Good luck in your decision!
