:Well it can be good and bad. It's good if given in the right doses, no more than 2-3 times per week. It's bad if given daily. D3 is a fat soluble vitamin and can be stored in the body. If given too much it can be toxic over the long term. D3 is the vitamin that lets your Uro's system absorb the calcium in it's food, so it is essential. This is one reason that most, if not all of us keep UVB lighting on our Uro's as well as other lizards. The UVB is believed to let them metabolize their own D3.
:Just a thought or two on your diet. Romaine is only marginally nutritional as a staple diet. Try rich greens like Endive, mustard greens, collard greens and especially now dandelion greens and blossoms. These have much better nutrition and lots of calcium. It's also important to vary what you feed them. The more variety the better the nutrition.
:Hope this clears things up a little.

Thanks for the advice... speaking of calcium absorbsion, if they aren't absorbing calcium, or as much as they need to, will there be any signs of it, like perhaps calcium deposits? I ask this because I think I have found some sort of small looking rock that is white and the closer I look at it, it looks like a small turd.. I'm just wondering if this is a good or bad sign.
Thanks.
