:I just received my two Nigerian/Saharan Uro's (a male and female) a few days ago, and I've been feeding them well; they've been eating good. The only thing that is strange about the male is that he sometimes opens his mouth, (sorta like a dog would do to beg for food) and then like starts breathing hard, and it sorta looks like a mating call, but I dont think it is... Is he hungry? Is he cooling off? Or what?

:Thanks.

Provided your sure your uro is not sick with any kind of respitory ailments then this is normal called gap-ing kind of like when a dog pants, even though there is a cool side to move into they will still sit right under the basking light and do this, mine do anyway sometimes , bearded dragons and collared lizards do it too ! :0) Eve
