Hard to say, I know with a 2' tall tank, I had trouble getting adequate heat at "ground level" without dropping the light down inside. Are your temps ok down torwards the bottom? Also, the heating pad you mentioned, it's not a heat rock of sorts...right? Is the hide box in an area where it's not too hot, maybe a second one somewhere else. Hard to picture how you've got it set up, but my curiosity gets me, as I've been thinking of biulding a "split-level" cage. Take a look through the forum at the current substrate feedback. I hope that gets you some ideas, I don't know if you think your tank needs improving, but as long as there's adequate room, temps, and stress free areas, I think you're ok.
:okay first the uro is a yellow mali and the cage is 30 sq. x 36 tall it has a ground level and it cango up a latter to the 2nd level has a lamp heating pad hide box and food holder.
