Tiger salamander - boy or girl?

I've recently acquired a tiger salamander (Ambystoma tigrimum) around 15cm (6 inches) total length. I'm trying to work out the age and sex of this great animal.
As for age, I'm guessing two years old (sorry, no info on the original source) - is that reasonable?
The cloaca is quite small, so I THINK it's a female, but would a tiger of this size be mature enough to display full sexual characteristics? Picture at:
