EVENING TELEGRAPH (Coventry, UK) 10 April 03 Boa constrictors 'found in park'
Three dangerous boa constrictor snakes - one 10 feet long - have been handed in to the RSPCA by a man who said he had found them in a park in Coundon, Coventry.
He left without giving further details.
The snakes are one male, a female and a smaller snake.
RSPCA inspector Chris Heyworth today hit out at irresponsible reptile owners who have caused a recent spate in animal dumpings.
He said: "It's typical of people who get these creatures, think they're fantastic and have always wanted one, and then realise how big they can grow, how much expertise they need and how difficult they are to look after.
"They are a very specialist animal and very dangerous as well.
"It's grossly unfair to dump these snakes on an animal home which has no facilities to look after them."
The RSPCA aims to rehome the creatures at Twycross Zoo.
