Gecko trying to climb wall of vivarium: Normal?

Hiya!

I've got my Leopard gecko three weeks now, and all seems just fine except for one thing. It tries to climb the back wall of my vivarium several times a day, which it can't offcourse, since it's completely flat. He stands on it's back legs and tail, desperately trying to climb up!

I've got a second level in my vivarium (see photo) and there are several ways to for him to climb up. I also see him do it frequently, so I figured that is not it.

Does anybody have any idea why he's doing this and more important, whether it is normal or not?
