PRESS ASSOCIATION (London, UK) 25 July 02 Guard alligators 'growled' at anti-drug cops during search
Police in Missouri searching a flat for drugs found it was guarded by two alligators.
Hillsboro sheriff's sergeant John Dolan says the alligators were "growling'' at officers as they carried out the search.
One was in a bathtub while the other was under a bed. Officers say both were between four and five feet long.
They also found two rattlesnakes in an aquarium. Police asked a reptile expert to capture all the animals.
Local6.com says a man and a woman have been arrested as part of a heroin investigation.
Police say charges are pending.
