Lizard for semi-expierenced taker

hey there, im 16 and i wanna find a new lizard. When i was 12, i bought some type of Little Gecko names Capirnicus. He lived in a little 12 gallon and lived a happy life for 2 1/2 years. he dies a tragic death. ( Long story short,He Was eating his skin, when there was some still left on him, obviously he couldnt swallow it then, he choked to death ) I have done ALOT of reaserch, i have a love for beardies but i HATE crickets! they chirp at night and smell like crap, going to get them is a pain also. If there is an easy breeding method, id love for someone to tell me. Beardies sound good, but will a 35 gallon suit a beardie? also, should i buy it as adult, or baby?
