Well, our club is in the predicament of securing new meeting facilities (our previous location upped the price from $50 to $116 PER NIGHT). I'd say your best bet would be to secure the back room of a restaurant--cheaper, suitable for a one-time event, and you can discuss business over a Bloomin' Onion or similar.
