:I agree. Hemidactylus turcicus are about the only species of gecko introduced to here in Texas, and they are everywhere. They outproduce even anoles it seems to me and are much more common haha. Nothing to worry about. Good bug partrol. We get them in the house sometimes. Keeps mosquitoes and rogue crickets out of my room. Andy that would be startling ... and I'm not going to ask to elaborate on the head thing...
i find them ocaasionally in the house, usually newborns. There is one that guards my patio hiding behind the rainguttering. Anybody have any nuisance med geckos, please send them my way...
According to my 1987 copy of A Field Guide to Reptiles & Amphibians of Texas by Garrett & Barker does list a "an established breeding colony" in Galveston of Cyrtodactylus scaber.
