Thanks for the article. I'm 42 and caught 100s as a child in Lavaca County. My sister and I would let them hang on our clothes, put them on leash and hang them as temporary ornaments (we never injured any, but I wouldn’t consider doing those things today). As the article says, we thought they’d be here forever. I must admit, they added to my fascination and love for reptiles. Horny Toads are true icons of Texas and our history.
