the end of august and september are usually the best months to be collecting north of the big bend around alpine and in the davis mountains. it is also one of the better times to find birds on thier early migration routes to the tropics. the question is, how many days are you gonna be out here, and how much time are you willing to put in to find the species you so desire. i will be out and about most of the month, so if a guide is desired, it could easily be arranged.
