: hey, i have been finding many frogs at the guadalupe river that look like they belong to the genus rana. they are grey to brown with brownis mottling on the back. i cant find anything on them please help
Can't find anything on them? Probably one of the two possible species of Leopard Frog out here--the Southern or the Rio Grande. I'm a couple miles west of the Guadalupe River in Schertz and I've got some spots where I can find TONS of leopard frogs on the road. I need to take one home with me for positive ID just for my own peace of mind, but I'll release it afterwards--amphibians aren't my "thing." :)
