I wouldn't want to conduct the survey, but I wonder how many insurance companies would be tickled-pink to hear a client had snakes and wanted them covered. I think it's one of those cases where you don't lie to them, you just don't go out of your way to say you have nonstandard pets.

Logically, a fish tank should be a higher insurance risk than snakes due to the potential for water damage, but most people are "used" to hearing about fish as pets; not so many are familiar with pet snakes.
