There are some in Caddo lake and Lake of the pines. Oshea big adventures was at black bayou on one episode which is only a few miles from Tx state line. They are also some in southwest Ark. They were still fairly plentifull on Mercer Bayou near my home when I was a kid, dont know now, we still got plenty of gators and since nobody hunts the turtles here anymore I imagine we still got them too.
