Future Texan needs herp law summary

Hello, everyone! My fiance and I just purchased some property in Austin, Texas. We plan to move from Minnesota to your more herp friendly climate next August...along with my huge collection of exotic aquatic turtles. I have been breeding some of these species. Is there anyone that can give me a brief summary of Texas herp law and who can give me a general idea of what local (city) laws are like? Minnesota city codes are out of hand and I'm hoping that Texas is better in this regard. Thanks!
