need a snake id

I saw a beautiful snake around wichita falls that was neon green with a yellow belly, and had a red toungue. It was fairly agresive and struck at me several times. I was with my kids so we just looked at it and let it go its way, but a few days ago in Azle just west of fort worth i found another one, smaller but the same snake, under a log by eagle mountain lake. Again i let it go, but what is it? Grass snake? The realy neet thing about the snake is that although both were prity long, they were very lean and skinny, not even as big around as say, a pencil, but both were about two feet long. What is it? skinner
