Centex Herp Society or Association - why not start a new one

As I understand it the Central Texas Herp Society is gone and no longer exists. I would dearly love to help build a new one made up of people who enjoy handeling, owning, breeding, and caring for herps. I am willing to help in any way i can. anyone have any opinions?
