Did anyone know about these proposed bills? H.B. 1362 and S.B. 235, this legislation will still allow ownership of exotic animals as pets, but will require owners to register with local animal control authorities, possess liability insurance, and provide minimum standards for housing and veterinary care for their animals and it applies to USDA permit holders. This bill was voted out of the Senate State Affairs Committee unanimously. The full senate will vote on it Tuesday 4/17.
