Meretseger-- Gut loading them...that's an interesting idea, maybe worth trying. Mata Matas definitely lose color as they age. (Nothing can compare to the coloration of a hatchling Mata Mata.) But the big wild caught animals are definitely way more colorful than the ones kept in tanks for years. It's an interesting issue. --Maxx
