Turtle Tom (and Daisy)-- There have been no legal Fly River Turtles exported out of Australia or New Guinea for around 20 years. All of the hatchlings that show up in the pet trade have been smuggled into the U.S. But since they aren't on CITES (yet) and they're not on and endangered species list, there isn't a lot that can be done once they're in the country...although some people have had legal problems with them. This is something you need to know if you make the decision to buy a Fly River Turtle from someone. --Maxx
