I didn't use heat lamps at night. room temp is fine for white's for the most part. If I did use a heat lamp it was a ceramic bulb with no visible light. I would just watch them in the dark. after a while the frog will get used to you anyway. I had all my frogs in their own room with a separate A/C, space heater on a thermostat. I would go in the room, turn on the ceiling fan light and feed everybody. wasn't alot of light but most of the frogs weren't concerned. most would actually perk up because they know it's feeding time.
