Another successful brumation, TW. Nice work. My grays are up too. This year one of the females stayed up pretty much throughout the winter. In past winters the same female went to sleep with everyone else. This is the interesting part to me -- they just won't follow any rule to the letter. They like to keep us guessing.
BTW, we cut into a vernal pool in Ipswich last week and there was a good 12 inches of ice. But maybe this warm spell will bring spring around. Last year at this time we were past all breeding activity in the VP and the swans had already laid in the real ponds. Anything going on in your neck of the woods?
